Why is this so exciting? With contactless cards, transactions are easier, faster, and more secure. Each contactless transaction has a unique, encrypted one-time code that securely protects your payment information. There is no need to swipe, insert or hand over your card. Just look for the Contactless Symbol at checkout, then tap to pay and be on your way. It's that simple!

We know, you are ready to get started! Your bright new credit card will be coming by mail beginning June 6, 2022, but in the meantime, take a look below to learn more about this exciting upgrade.

What to expect with your new Jovia Credit Card

There will be a few changes to your card and your account with this upgrade, so we want to make sure you know exactly what is happening and when.

Key Dates:

  • June 6, 2022 - New Jovia Credit Card will be mailed. Please allow 7-10 business days for delivery
  • June 16 - 20, 2022 - External credit card payments will be unavailable. To make a payment from your Jovia account, call 855-JOVIA4U and choose option 2
  • June 20, 2022 - Old credit card becomes inactive at 6:00 am EDT
  • June 20, 2022 - Activate new card starting at 7:00 am EDT (use the last four digits of the primary cardholder's Social Security Number)

What you need to know:

  • Your new card will have a different credit card number, CVV, and expiration date. If you have automatic payments set up with your current credit card, make sure to contact each vendor with your new credit card number to avoid any interruption in your service. You will also need to re-enroll in any mobile wallet services such as Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay,
  • All cardholders will receive a new card regardless of whether they are primary or secondary cardholders.
  • For security reasons, each secondary cardholder will have a new individual card number, CVV number, and expiration date.
  • If you plan to use your card at any ATM, you will be required to use a PIN. You can select your unique PIN during the activation of the card or call later to choose your PIN.
  • Download any past statements you would like to keep for your records. After June 15, 2022, all past statements will not be available. Go into Online Banking and select the credit card drop down to access your statements.
  • Starting June 20, 2022, you can manage your credit card preferences, including card controls and spending alerts, with CardHub. Go into Online Banking and register for CardHub with your new card number.

A new way to earn rewards! (Platinum and Elite Cards Only)

Starting June 20th, our credit card reward program will be changing to UChoose Rewards®. Jovia's Platinum and Elite credit cardholders can earn points any time they use their card, then redeem those points to use toward shopping, travel, event tickets, gift cards, and more. What you need to know:

  • You have up until June 14, 2022, to redeem any points with the CU Rewards, otherwise, your points will be transferred to the new UChoose Rewards® program

  • UChoose Rewards® are only available on Visa Platinum and Visa Signature Elite Cards. Visa Advantage cards are not eligible.

Why am I receiving a new credit card?

Jovia Financial Credit Union is upgrading all its members' credit cards to new contactless credit cards for added convenience and enhanced security. This change requires that a new credit card be issued.

What is contactless technology?

Contactless technology allows for everyday purchases to be made with just a tap of your card whenever you see the contactless symbol. It makes checkout simple and easy.

Can I still use my contactless card even if I don't see the Contactless Symbol?

Yes, if the merchant has not upgraded to contactless technology, you can insert or swipe your card just like you always have.

Are contactless payments safe?

Yes, each contactless payment generates a transaction-specific, one-time code that protects your payment information, effectively reducing counterfeit fraud.

When can I expect to receive my new card?

The new credit cards will be mailed out starting June 6, 2022. Please allow 7-10 business days to receive your new card. Once you receive your new card, please activate it immediately and sign the back. If you do not receive your new credit card by June 15, 2022, please contact us at 855-JOVIA4U.

Will my card number change, or will it stay the same?

All members will have new card numbers. If you have any automatic recurring payments attached to your current credit card, please remember to update your card information anywhere it is stored (Netflix, iTunes, Amazon, etc.).

Will I have a new PIN to access cash from my credit card?

You will no longer receive a PIN in the mail, and your old PIN will not work with the new card. You can select your unique PIN by calling the number on the activation label and choosing the PIN option.

My partner and I both have Jovia credit cards. Will my partner receive a new card as well?

Yes. As a security feature, all cards issued with this conversion will have a unique number and will arrive separately. However, you will continue to receive only one bill, regardless of the number of cards on the account.

Will my previous card history transfer to my new card number so I can access the information if needed?

You will not be able to access statements/history online as of June 15, 2022, so we recommend if you need individual statements that you save them on your computer or print hard copies before this date. You will still receive your annual end-of-year summary statement.

Do I need to make any changes if I send my credit card payment by mail?

Yes. The new address is PO Box 2711, Omaha, NE 68103-2711.

Do I need to make any changes to my monthly credit card payment as an automatic ACH transfer, payroll deduction, or recurring transfer? from my Jovia account?

If the automated payments to your credit card are from your Jovia account, you will not need to make any changes.

If the automated payments are from another provider, you will need to provide your new card number and payment address (PO Box 2711 Omaha, NE 68103-2711) on or before June 20, 2022.

How do I report my contactless card lost or stolen?
If your contactless credit card becomes lost or is stolen, first log into Jovia’s Mobile App and use card controls to turn off your card, then, call the 24x7 Contact Center: 800-252-1164.

Will my rewards points change with my new contactless credit card?

Yes. All Jovia Platinum and Signature Elite credit card members will change to our new program, UChoose Rewards®.

You can redeem all remaining CU Rewards points at www.curewards.com through June 14, 2022. All remaining CURewards points will be transferred to the new UChoose Rewards® Program. Your points expiration date will remain the same with the new rewards program

What is UChoose Rewards®?

UChoose Rewards® is a program that earns you points for using your Jovia credit card. You can redeem your points toward anything from the vast online rewards catalog found at uchooserewards.com.

Do I need to register my credit card before I can start earning points?

No, you will start earning points the first time you make a transaction with your new credit card; however, you will need to register your card before redeeming your points.

How do I register my card?

Please visit www.uchooserewards.com starting June 20, 2022. You will see "New to UChoose Rewards?" on the right side with a Register link. Click Register, and then enter your card number. Once your card is authenticated, it will ask to establish your username and password. Follow the instructions as provided.
